Your Role as Environmental Engineer:
 
As an Environmental Engineer, you will lead and execute environmental projects, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations while supporting clients in achieving their sustainability goals. This role requires a strong technical background in environmental assessments, regulatory processes, and fieldwork related to air, water, and soil quality.
 
Your Key Accountabilities:
  • Lead and support environmental studies, including baseline assessments, environmental impact assessments (EIA), and permitting applications.
  • Develop and implement environmental management strategies, plans, and best practices for sustainable operations.
  • Conduct field investigations, including air, water, and soil sampling, and oversee data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with provincial and federal environmental regulations, preparing technical reports and applications for regulatory approvals.
  • Oversee environmental monitoring programs and mitigation plans for industrial and infrastructure projects.
  • Collaborate with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to develop environmental solutions that align with project goals.
  • Provide technical guidance on waste management, mine water management, and reclamation initiatives.
  • Support business development activities by identifying opportunities and assisting with proposal preparation.
  • Maintain a safe and efficient work environment during field activities and office-based project execution.
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hydrogeology, Geological Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Five years of experience in environmental consulting, preferably in the mining or industrial sectors.
  • Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) or Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo) designation in Ontario or eligibility for registration in Ontario is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, permitting processes, and compliance requirements in Canada.
  • Experience in environmental modeling, GIS applications, and data analysis tools is an asset.
  • Excellent project management skills, including scope development, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for site visits and fieldwork.
