Senior Tort Law Clerk

Our client, a well-established personal injury law firm, is currently seeking a skilled and personable Senior Tort Law Clerk to join their dynamic team. This full-time, hybrid position is based in Toronto. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about helping clients through complex legal matters. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of approximately 100 active personal injury files, with a focus on catastrophic injury claims
• Handle files independently from intake to settlement
• Draft and file legal documents through the e-portal, including Statements of Claim, Motions, and Trial Records
• Assist with trial preparation and coordination (experience in this area is considered an asset)
• Conduct client-facing initial interviews and maintain regular communication throughout the case
• Liaise with clients, medical professionals, insurance companies, and opposing counsel
• Maintain organized and up-to-date file documentation
• Collaborate closely with lawyers and other team members to ensure effective case strategy and timely resolution

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of experience at a leading plaintiff personal injury law firm
• Graduate of a reputable Law Clerk program, with honors
• Exceptional drafting skills and attention to detail
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills with a professional demeanor
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment
