Selling a top candidate on your company is a lot more challenging when they can’t come to your office. Not being able to meet with a candidate in person not only makes it more difficult for you to assess them, but it can also make it more challenging to sell them on your company and culture.
Top candidates want to see your office, meet people, and get a sense of your company culture when they meet during the job interview process. Obviously, COVID-19 has changed this and altered the hiring process. But there are still ways you can impress a candidate even if they can’t physically come into your office.
Offer a Virtual Tour
Offering potential candidates a virtual office tour is the most effective way to give them a sense of your office environment without physically entering it. You could do this in a number of ways. You could have a photo tour, do a promotional video, or even provide specific candidates with a live office tour. Show them where they would be working, where things are located, office perks, and anything else you think is important to sell them on your office environment.
Leverage Digital
Use your digital assets to impress candidates. Dedicate a section of your website to passively recruiting candidates and promoting your employer brand. Provide potential candidates with the information they are looking for about your organization. To help communicate why people love to work for your company, shoot employee video testimonials. Leverage your social channels to communicate employer branding messaging.
Offer a Fantastic Candidate Experience
How you treat candidates during the recruiting process will do a lot to impress them. It’s the smaller details that matter. This will reflect in what other candidates have to say about your company. Creating a great experience will help you improve your company brand and get more people interested in working for you. This builds a certain level of trust, helping you passively impress candidates, even if they don’t come into your office.
Be an Exceptional Communicator
Strong communication during the recruiting process is very important. Replying to candidate applications, following up in a timely manner, and keeping candidates updated about the process cannot be understated. You can quickly impress a candidate with great communication.
