Your people are getting burned out. It’s been a challenging 2020 and 2021. Amid the pandemic, working from home, parents doing remote learning with their children, and myriad uncertainties, people need a break.
We feel the same here at IQ Partners. Many of our team members have been dealing with the same challenges. To help prevent our team from experiencing burnout and get back to balance, we are giving our employees every other Friday off this summer. We are calling it Better Balance Fridays and our team is very excited about it!!

This has become a popular strategy that is catching on with a variety of companies. Many refer to it as Summer Fridays. According to a recent study, 55% of companies offered summer Fridays in 2019. The number of companies offering it continues to increase.
Summer Fridays typically are in effect from Victoria Day in May until Labour Day in September. There are a lot of ways you can do this to give your employees a break:
- Every other Friday off
- Half days every Fridays
- Rotating Fridays off
Another strategy some companies use is to give employees a certain number of flex hours or days they can use during the summer.
Who wouldn’t love to have some extra time off this summer? Your employees will appreciate it and it will give them the chance to rest and recharge.
