The Opportunity: We are looking for a Senior Accountant to oversee the moment-to-moment financial dealings of the company, making sure that everything lines up with both generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and propriety of all financial data and reports maintained.
Responsibilities: - Leading the accounting division of the Toronto office
- Daily financial monitoring to monitor cash inflow and outflow
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements and support schedules
- Prepare HST filings and initiate payment of tax liabilities
- Prepare and record journal entries
- Ensure records are being maintained timely, accurately and in compliance with company procedures
- Prepare month-end close procedures
- Prepare information for various audits as needed
- Prepare monthly/quarterly financial statements and supporting schedules working closely with management to ensure accuracy
- Accounts payables
- Accounts receivables
- System and process improvements
- Teamwork and collaboration
Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited institution
- 5 or more years of professional accounting experience
- CPA designation (or intention to work toward CPA designation) is preferred
- Experience with NetSuite is a strong asset
- Strong aptitude in numerical and financial calculations
- Ability to analyze and interpret various types of data in order to draw conclusions and solve problems
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel and proficiency utilizing various accounting software
- Ability to compose business letters, expositions, summaries, reports, using proper format, punctuation, grammar, dictation and style
- Excellent spoken and written English
