We are hiring a Vice President, People for our leading agency client. The VP, People will provide hands-on, proactive and strategic input, insight and advice on people-related areas including, but not limited to talent management, employee relations, diversity and inclusion, recruitment, coaching/development, compensation, conflict management, organizational development and training to advance business strategies, leadership and culture imperatives at the organization. The company operates in a fast-paced, agile environment, requiring a well-rounded generalist who can adapt quickly, take on multiple roles, and continuously learn—all while maintaining an unwavering commitment to outstanding client service.
The role requires a person who can prioritize, multitask, and deliver. It is critical to have proven, successful experience in scaling an organization in a high growth industry.
Specific expectations around this role include: - Strong ability to influence without authority, develop consensus and build rapport with a wide variety of people.
- Ability to contribute to the evolution and improvement of people processes, programs and practices as the organization scales. This could mean partnering with Finance, Operations, or other practices across different functions to tackle broader projects.
- Ability to lead and/or assist in the design, rollout, and implementation of policies, programs, and practices to improve organizational efficiency, create an outstanding experience for our people and help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company.
- Ability to work within tight timelines and across different types of asks.
- Ability to manage and support team members across time zones with variable job responsibilities. Providing guidance and problem solving in a partnership model.
- Ability and willingness to engage with external vendors as required.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a team of direct or indirect reports.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Must have:
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field, such as Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Commerce, Psychology, Industrial Relations, related field and/or relevant work experience.
- Significant work experience in a Talent/People/HR and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Successful background check.
Knowledge, skills, and experience:
- Experience utilizing and managing an HRIS system.
- Experience in professional services, consulting, or agency environments.
- Cultural transformation work.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and successful track record in working with staff at all levels.
- Consistently demonstrates a spirit of teamwork and readily collaborates with others.
- High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and reasoning skills to lead operational excellence.
- Consistently adheres to all company policies, procedure, and practices.
- Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
Good to have:
- CHRL designation or CHRL candidate would be an asset.
